                         10.hack//G.U. Last Recode

Celebrate the 15th anniversary of the .hack series and relieve the spark it had in 2002. With new game modes, improved system features, revisioned graphics, and much more, you’re sure to have a blast with this RPG. Including the entire trilogy of the .hack series, discover what’s real and what’s reality! .hack//G.U. Last Recode releases for the PlayStation 4 November 3, 2017.







                         9. Monster Hunter World


Another Installment in the Monster Hunter Series. Slay some more monsters and explore the open world RPG game that fans know and love. Of course, many players head straight to fighting some monsters, forget story haha! Definitely recommend this game to any monster hunter fan out there. Monster Hunter Worlds releases for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 2018.






                          8. Fire Emblem(Switch)


Fire Emblem will be returning to a home video game console! The next installment in the series, Nintendo has announced the official game! Very little information has been revealed about this game, however, info will be revealed in 2018.Fire Emblem for the Nintendo Switch releases 2018.








Oh man! Pokemon is coming to the Switch! The first installment in the Pokemon series to release on a home console. Again, very little information has been revealed about this game, however, info will be revealed in 2018. Pokemon for the Nintendo Switch releases 2018.






                      6. Project Octopath Traveler

A working title, Project Octopath Traveler is an upcoming RPG developed by Square Enix. With a new graphic concept called HD-2D, it’s unique design will be sure to catch your eye at first glance. Choose up to 8 characters with unique abilities to uncover their story and goals. A demo is available on the Nintendo Switch Eshop to try out before buying. Project Octopath Traveler releases exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2018.







               5. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

The second installment in the Nino Kuni Series, venture on as prince Evan to reclaim your throne in this 3rd person perspective RPG. Complete Quests, Solve puzzles, and much more as you explore the open world of Nino Kuni! Not much information on this game has been released yet, but more info will be revealed as we come close to the release date. I recommend playing the first game: Nuno Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch before considering buying this game to get a feel for what the RPG mechanics are like. Nino Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom releases for the PS4 and PC January 19, 2018. (Yes the game was delayed, the original release date was November 20, 2017).







                        4. Dragon Quest X


Many Dragon Quest fans are very excited to see X releasing for the latest consoles. It was interesting to find out this released for the Wii U, not sure in NA but in JP. An immensely popular title in Japan, venture through a new world and discover secrets while uncovering the story of this interesting RPG title. This is honestly a game that is recommended to Dragon Quest fans, seems like the type of series that you’d have to previously have played to understand it, but you never know. Dragon Quest X releases for the Xbox One, PS4, & Nintendo Switch TBA.







                   3. Final Fantasy VII(remake)

               My favorite character in the Final Fantasy Series has returned!


The First Class Soldier himself, Cloud Strife is making a return with Final Fantasy 7 Remake! Directed by Tetsuya Nomura, relive one of the most beloved Final Fantasy Series in a completely new makeover. Follow the same similar story to the original with new gameplay fighting mechanics similar to Kingdom Hearts! Very little info has been revealed in terms of a release date, but it’s definitely looking really nice. Final Fantasy VII Remake releases for the currently known consoles: Xbox One and PS4, Release date TBA.







                         Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

            Those who read my previous Top 10’s know the little joke I put up there ^



The second official installment in the Xenoblade Chronicles series. Venture on a new quest as you play as Rex and discover a blade that grants incredible powers. Featuring a new story, characters, and recognizable battle system for Xenoblade fans that took inspiration from Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles X. This game is definitely Nintendo’s first hardcore RPG title for the Switch, it also looks really fun in handheld mode. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 releases for the Nintendo Switch December 1st, 2017.









                           1. Kingdom Hearts 3

Upcoming RPG Titles                            Seems like this wasn’t much of a surprise, haha.


Dive into the next and supposedly final installment with Sora in the Kingdom Hearts Series. With new Heartless, Items, Magic, and gameplay mechanics! It’s worth mentioning Kingdom Hearts 3 is one of the most anticipated video game titles out there for obvious reasons. Not much info has been revealed yet, but we have finally got a release year that’s pretty solid. Kingdom Hearts 3 releases for the currently known consoles: Xbox One and PS4 in 2018.
